Founder and CEO
Matt is Maori. He carries the manaakitanga half of the name: the conviction that navigation is care for the people you serve. Four founder cycles and four exits across digital media, and most recently he built and ran the AI marketing operating model Aukai is built on.

Lindsey Breeden
Co-Founder and COO
Lindsey is Native Hawaiian. He carries the wayfinder half of the name: the conviction that taste and judgment are the work. Two decades as a global executive creative director for brands including Disney, Coca-Cola, BMW, Visa, and the NFL, and COO of Hawke Media.
Both founders are indigenous Polynesian, and the wayfinding at the center of the company is theirs by inheritance, not by metaphor. The name carries both inheritances: in Hawaiian, au and kai, the sea traveler who reads the water and finds the way; in Maori, kai, the center of manaakitanga, the care you show the people you serve. Command the AI in order to take care of the people you serve. The navigation ships as working software; Aukai runs its own company on systems the founders built.
